Ganadores de los Premios Eisner 2022

Luego de que en 2020 y 2021 la ceremonia de entrega de los Will Eisner Comic Industry Award, conocidos simplemente como premios Eisner, el más importante reconocimiento anual en la industria del cómic estadounidense, se realizaran de forma virtual debido a la pandemia, este fin de semana se celebró la entrega de la edición 2022 del galardón, con Phil Lamarr como maestro de ceremonias y en el tradicional marco de las actividades de la San Diego Comic-Con.

Durante la misma ceremonia se entregan varios premios independientes a los Eisner. Bob Bolling (Little Archie) y Don Rico (cocreador de Black Widow) recibieron el Bill Finger Excellence in Comic Book Writing Award, que reconoce esfuerzos olvidados o menospreciados de escritores de cómic. El Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award fue para Annie Koyama, creadora del programa Koyama Press Provides; y Luciano Vecchio (Bolero) recibió el Russ Manning Promising Newcomer Award.

Además de los premios, la misma gala presenta a los profesionales inducidos al Will Eisner Comic Awards Hall of Fame. En abril pasado se anunció a Marie Duval (cocreadora en 1867 de “Alley Sloper”), Rose O’Neill (creadora en 1912 de The Kewpies), Max Gaines, Mark Gruenwald (Captain America, Squadron Supreme), Alex Niño (DC, Marvel, Warren, Heavy Metal)y P. Craig Russell (Elric, The Sandman, American Gods, Norse Mythology) como nuevos miembros del salón de la fama.

También se anunció entonces a diecisiete nominados de la era moderna, y de entre ellos el jurado de este año eligió para su inducción a Howard Chaykin (American Flagg!, Black Kiss, The Shadow), Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Larry Hama (G.I. Joe, Wolverine), Moto Hagio (precursora del shōjo moderno), David Mazzucchelli (Daredevil: Born Again, Batman: Year One, Asterios Polyp) y Grant Morrison (Animal Man, The Invisibles, Flex Mentallo, We3, Multiversity, etc.).
